Joanne Simpson

REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER / PSYCHOTHERAPIST

I am a Masters-trained Social Worker and Registered Social Worker (RSW) with more than 20 years of experience supporting adults in community mental health and clinical settings. Since 2002, I have helped individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of trauma through evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT).

I am also trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) group facilitation, and I previously worked as a therapist in a Nurse Practitioner-led Chronic Pain Clinic, where I supported both individuals and groups.

Clients often describe me as patient, calm, and understanding. I value a structured, skills-based approach that incorporates educational handouts, worksheets, and home practice to encourage lasting change. My practice is focused on working with individual adults to develop practical tools for managing challenges and improving overall well-being.

To ensure a good fit, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation by phone or online, where we can meet and discuss your goals.
