WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This 90-minute workshop offers a guided process of debriefing with the self, integrating somatic movement, therapeutic reflection, and the supportive structure of the Body Braid.

Debriefing is the practice of helping the body, mind, and spirit recognize that, in the present moment, it is safe and stable. It is the act of giving yourself permission to slow down, rather than push past your experience and begin to understand what you’ve been through.

The Body Braid is a flexible, wearable support system made of elastic straps that wrap around the body in a specific pattern. As you move, it creates gentle tension that supports alignment, improves posture, and increases body awareness.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS

Through a combination of movement, reflection, and gentle cognitive integration, participants will be supported in noticing and processing internal experiences.

The workshop moves through a structured yet flexible framework exploring:

  • thoughts
  • feelings
  • physical sensations
  • reactions
  • symptoms
  • and closure

Each stage is supported by:

  • somatic practices (movement, breath, sensing)
  • therapeutic reflection (guided writing and parts work)
  • Body Braid support (gentle physical organization and feedback)

Participants will be guided to:

  • reconnect with their body
  • explore internal states with curiosity and care
  • access supportive or regulating sensations
  • experience debriefing as a body-based process, not only cognitive
